Thoughts on Brexit

The public of the United Kingdom voted in the 23 June Referendum on the EU to leave the pan-European institution. A majority of 52 % (comprised of every district save London, Scotland and Northern Ireland) carried the day over the 48 % of voters who wanted to remain in the European Union.

To those who say the world is falling apart (and there are quite a few on both sides of the Atlantic):

The (neoliberal internationalist) world is falling apart now. The (human) world depends our near-future treatment of the biosphere. The (physical) world will be remain, it’s been around for billions of years and will do so on human time-scales . As for the (real) world, well now, what’s real? Let’s hope Elon Musk doesn’t tell his alien friends to turn off the hologram simulation.
